XETICS GmbH was founded in 2012 as a start-up by Dr.-Ing. Philipp Dreiß. The company is based in Stuttgart and employs around 40 people. The main product is XETICS LEAN, a cloud-based manufacturing execution system (MES) that was developed specifically for the needs of medium-sized companies. XETICS has been part of the TRUMPF Group since 2018.
Challenge
Versatility and flexibility through integration
The aim of developing XETICS LEAN was to provide a production control system with significantly reduced effort and costs for medium-sized companies. The complete process chain of discrete manufacturing was taken into account. XETICS LEAN has a modular structure and can be adapted to almost any industry with little effort. Data exchange with ERP and other systems takes place via a REST standard interface. Ninox, on the other hand, as a low-code platform, offers the possibility to develop individual business solutions and also relies on the REST standard as an interface. So it made sense to connect the two systems with each other.
The interaction of Ninox and XETICS opens up completely new perspectives in digitalisation and automation for production companies.
Solution
Streamlined, needs-based solution without gaps
Production is embedded in upstream and downstream business processes such as sales, invoicing and after-sales activities. These are often still handled with outdated industry solutions, Access databases or Excel spreadsheets, making data exchange time-consuming and error-prone. The aim of the partnership between Ninox and XETICS was to map the entire process chain in a closed manner and to achieve maximum automation. Ninox provides the ERP and CRM functions and automatically forwards the required data to XETICS LEAN, which in turn returns data from production to Ninox, where it is further processed. This interaction ensures a high degree of transparency and efficiency, saves an enormous amount of time and significantly reduces the error rate. All data is always up-to-date and can be accessed anywhere at any time.

The example of the cooperation between Ninox and XETICS shows what's possible with modern, cloud-based systems.
