Westerwald-Brauerei has been a family-owned and family-operated brewery for five generations. Jens Geimer and his family have been producing quality beers in their modern brewery, according to traditional brewing methods, for more than 150 years.
Replacement of numerous paper forms and Excel tables
Hachenburger is a traditional, but also modern, company. Software solutions for accounting and some brewery-specific standard processes have existed for a long time, but not for the numerous individual processes at Hachenburger. Repairs, maintenance and cleaning of the technical equipment must be well organized, controlled and documented within the scope of quality assurance. For this purpose, numerous paper forms and Excel tables were used.
While searching for a digital solution that would make work easier, Hachenburger came across Ninox and discovered that it could do much more.
Consistent digitalization of processes with the Ninox Cloud
Within a few weeks, a senior technical employee at Hachenburger developed Ninox, a solution that almost completely replaced paper forms and Excel tables and streamlined processes. The employees can now scan the barcodes of the components and work through their checklists with iPads. All the data is centrally available in an instant and no longer needs to be transferred anywhere else. Repair lists, daily reports, and inspection protocols can be retrieved at the touch of a button, and the error rate has been significantly reduced.
Longer training periods or extensive employee training were not necessary. Hachenburger uses Ninox Cloud with various personal computers in the administration and several iPads in the brewery operation.

The initial problem at Hachenburger, namely the improvement of maintenance and quality assurance processes, was quickly solved with Ninox. The corresponding modules have also been tested and approved in the context of various quality certifications, such as IFS Food and Slow Brew certification. They include, for example, an evaluation system of the premium key figures for the technical staff and will be further developed if required.
However, the simple possibility of developing individual solutions has also aroused interest in other departments. Ninox is now also used for tasks in the areas of merchandise management, logistics, personnel and project administration, and visitor management. There are also further ideas that will be implemented step-by-step. The medium-term goal is to create an integrated business solution with Ninox.
