Add styling to show a button has been clicked

It would be really great if the various buttons (print, the add new record + symbol etc) highlighted or changed in some way to show that it has been clicked. Sometimes I go to click, and because there might be some load time, I'm not sure that I actually clicked on the button itself or if I just clicked some white space next to it.
