Open form/view ready for entering new record

I have a form/view I want to use for data input, but when I click on it, it is showing the first record in my database. Is there a way to have this form/view open and be in the new record mode so I can just start entering data? I have searched the forum but haven't been able to find the solution. Apologies if this has been asked already.
