Technical Help / Not sure what the question would be but it concerns a time field.
First of all, forgive me if this is simple, I am six hours into this wonderful software, I am, as they say, a newbie! I am creating a quoting database for my comapny and I want a field that, for example, I want to enter how many hours I think a certian task woudl take. I don't want to enter a start and end time, I just want to enter the hours I think a task would take. I can do it in a number of w
Technical Help / Question
aztory, I finally got this to work... let prvId := number(last(select YourTableName).Id) - 1;let newRec := this;newRec.(' Start Miles' := number((select YourTableName where Id = prvId).'Stop Miles')) I tried to do it on my iPhone 8 first and got most of the way there, but I had to switch to my Mac to finish it. You get some error feedback on the Mac app that you don't get on the iPhone app. The cod
Technical Help / Small Inventory Management System?
Hi, Thank you for your interest in Ninox. I would suggest to use two different table views instead of two tables for Inventory and Sale. You use a Choice field to set a status (sold) in the record and then filter it out in the "Inventory" view and only show the sales in the "Sold" view. If you need support to do so or like some other help ot get started, please send an note to email@example.com a
Technical Help / Managing precision in number field, seeing non-exact values.
Hi again, to be very clear, i am doing nothing extraordinary at all. Using the mac app, have a regular table, and simply store many values with long ranges of decimals at times (think bitcoin satoshis..) I have created a small database to chase the issue, and see the image below. Simple routine: just a start and end loop value, a decimal amount added to each number and an increment +/-'d around th
Technical Help / How can I populate a Bill To address from Job address if both the same?
In invoice table go to Edit Fields and from the right column drag the Customer table reference over to the center column. Change the name of your choice field to Choices. Create a formular field with: if text(Choices) = "Yes" then Customers.'Customer/Job'end Then go back and rename your Choices field to whatever you want. I do not have time to test this right now, but hopefully it will get you sta
Technical Help / Do functions support the use of comments?
We can also comment several lines like: "comment line 1comment line 2comment line 3" ; But //, or ///, or /* are a must. When debugging if we need to block more than a few lines of code, the above solution does not work if we already have comments (double quotes) inside de code block . So having: /// for starting a multiline code block comment, and /// for ending Woub be a great help.
Technical Help / Relational Tables
When I first started using Ninox, I was confused about where the foreign key was stored that establishes the relationship between two tables. To confirm that the "Owner" reference (relation) in the above screenshot contains the foreign key, drag a formula field below "Owner". Then open the Formula field and enter "Owner" (without the quotes) as the formula. Then save and return to the detail view.
Technical Help / Unsorted Linked Table
I have a Table called WORK, which has a linked table for CUSTOMER. When I start filling in the form of WORK and come to the linked table field for CUSTOMER, even though the actual CUSTOMER table has an A-Z sort on it, when it pops up so I can select one of my Customers the list seems to be sorted how each customer was initially entered, i.e the last Customer I created is the last on the list. Is t
Technical Help / How can I set up two fields, one showing date/time record was created, one showing date/time of last modification?
Thank you, Steven. I'm just starting out. Is there a beginner's guide to Ninox scripting syntax somewhere? Is there a list of all possible scripting elements somewhere? Right now, I have a field of type Date/Time labelled "Date Modified". I want to take advantage of Steven's _md, but I have no idea into which option or even into which object to put it. Does it go into my "Date Modified," or is it
Technical Help / Is it possible to link automatically (via a function) fields in two tables that contain the same text?
And, just to be explicit now about the steps I did to make it work: Starting point: two tables exist (full of data) with fields that are not linked but contain data to link. 1) create a new "to child" relationship field in the parent table 2) create a button in the parent table with a script: let parentId := (select parent).Id;let parentField := (select parent).field;let parentCt := count(parentId
