Hachenburger Brauerei replaced a mountain of paper forms and Excel lists with a custom Ninox solution built in just a few weeks, cutting error rates and putting every maintenance record a button press away. For a brewery that has been making beer since 1861, that's no small shift.
The Westerwald-Brauerei, known as Hachenburger, is one of Germany's oldest pilsner breweries and still an independent, family run business now in its fifth generation. With around 100 employees producing roughly 70,000 hectoliters of beer specialties and mixed beer beverages a year, brewed exclusively with aroma hops, some grown on site, the company has always balanced tradition with a willingness to modernize where it counts.
Accounting and a few brewery specific standard processes had long since moved onto proper software. But the day-to-day work of keeping technical equipment running, repairs, maintenance, and cleaning, all critical to quality assurance, was still stuck on paper forms and scattered Excel sheets. Every inspection, every checklist, every repair note had to be filled in by hand and tracked down later when someone needed it. Hachenburger went looking for a simple digital form tool to lighten that load, and found out Ninox could do a lot more than that.
Ship fast, brew faster
Within a matter of weeks, a senior technical employee at Hachenburger built a Ninox based solution that nearly retired the paper forms and Excel sheets for good, and tightened up the processes around them in the bargain. Staff now scan barcodes on equipment components and work through their checklists on iPads. Every bit of data goes straight into a central system, no more copying information from paper to spreadsheet by hand. Repair lists, daily reports, and inspection records are all available at the push of a button, and the error rate has dropped noticeably.
Thanks to the low code approach behind Ninox, there was no need for a long onboarding period or heavy training. Hachenburger now runs the cloud based Ninox platform on desktop computers in the office and iPads out on the brewery floor.
Key functions include a central, always current data pool, mobile use with barcode scanning, and automated documentation, all working together to keep the shop floor running smoothly.
