Kampa builds several hundred energy efficient homes every year across multiple countries, and at some point Excel just couldn't keep up. So, the company handed its entire construction project management over to Ninox and hasn't looked back since.
Kampa is one of the largest prefabricated home builders in Europe, headquartered in Aalen, and it has grown by leaps and bounds over the past several years. With more than 500 employees spread across production and sales sites in several countries, and hundreds of self-sufficient concept homes going up annually, the company had a lot of moving parts to keep track of.
For a long time, that tracking happened in Excel. It worked fine when the project count was manageable, but as order volume climbed, the cracks started to show. There was no central place to store information, data entry was clunky, and automation was practically nonexistent. Outdated, incomplete, or flat-out wrong information became the norm rather than the exception. Kampa needed something that could grow with the business, not just handle more volume but genuinely make the process better.
Scaling past the spreadsheet ceiling
The company had already gotten its feet wet with Ninox, using it to document construction defects on existing projects. That experience, and a clear sense of what the platform could do, made the decision to expand it into full project management an easy one. Piece by piece, Kampa built a central project database in Ninox that covers everything from contract intake to final handover, including the more complicated parts of site management like scheduling, staffing, material allocation, and status or issue reporting. Everyone involved in a project can see exactly where things stand, all in one place.
As Peter Fazekas, Bereichsleiter Technik (Head of Technology), sums it up:
Before we could even finish explaining what we wanted to an outside software developer, we had already solved the problem ourselves with Ninox.
Key functions include process management, task management, and product data management, all pulled together under one roof instead of scattered across spreadsheets and inboxes.
One dashboard to build them all
The payoff has been significant. Kampa isn't just saving time, it's working with data it can trust. Simple, clear forms mean information can be captured and reviewed right on the job site, which has pushed both data quality and timeliness up considerably.
Project managers now have a clear view of every project at a glance, and problems that used to slip through the cracks get caught and resolved quickly. Leadership can pull high level reports to guide bigger business decisions, and new employees find it much easier to get up to speed since every process step is laid out clearly in the system.
