Frequently asked questions

  • How many team members can I invite to my team?
    • You can invite as many team members as you like. But remember, each team member needs to be covered by a subscription - either the team owner's subscription or your own subscription.

  • How is the number of users for my Ninox Cloud subscription determined?
    • Each invited team member of a Ninox Cloud team must be covered by a subscription, regardless of the role the new member has in the team.


      A team member is covered by a subscription if ...

      • the team owner's subscription covers the team member, or
      • the new team member has their own subscription.

      That is, if a team member has a license through their own subscription, it does not have to be covered by a license in the team owner's subscription.

  • How can I add more team members to my team?
    • Click on "Upgrade plan" in your Ninox team or your settings and specify the total number of team members required via "Upgrade". Then invite the team members via "Invite".

  • How is the price calculated for an additional team member?
    • If you add more licenses to your subscription, at that moment you book a new 1-year subscription for the licenses you need from now on. This way you will not have licenses ending differently.


      The remaining time from the "old" subscription, which has already been paid for, will of course be offset against the new subscription.

  • Do I need a Ninox Cloud subscription to use the Mac App?
    • No. If you buy the Mac App, you can fully use Ninox without a Ninox Cloud subscription. You can store your database locally on your Mac or in your iCloud to sync it on devices with the same Apple ID (iPhone, iPad and Mac App).


      To do this, save your databases in the "My databases" tab and select "iCloud" as the storage location. Then your databases will be displayed and automatically synchronized on all your devices in the respective Ninox app in the "My databases" tab.


      This does not require a subscription to the Ninox Cloud. You need a subscription to work together (in a team) via Ninox Cloud on the same databases.

  • If I decide to subscribe to Ninox Cloud, will I get the Mac app?
    • No, due to technical restrictions, you must purchase both products separately.

  • When do I need a subscription for my Mac app?
    • You need a subscription if you want to collaborate with others via the Ninox Cloud. The team owner buys the required number of licenses for their team.


      If you already have your own Ninox Cloud subscription, you can be invited to join a team without the team owner having to provide an extra license for you.

  • I no longer have access to my Ninox Cloud Team and the databases in it. What does this mean and what do I need to do?
    • Your team is probably blocked because your subscription has expired. Book a new subscription to the Ninox Cloud or upgrade your subscription and you will immediately have access to your team again.

  • I have already bought Ninox as a single user. Why do I receive a payment reminder?
    • We remind team owners who do not have a current subscription (anymore) or whose free trial has expired. In this case, please book a subscription so that you can continue to use the Ninox Cloud without restrictions.


      If you use Ninox as a single user in one of the Ninox apps (iOS or Android) locally on your devices and store your databases there (or synchronize via your iCloud, if applicable), please ignore our email reminder.

  • I am a member of a team at Ninox, but not the team owner who pays for the subscription. Why should I now also pay for Ninox?
    • The reminder only applies to teams where you are the team owner.


      We suppose you may still have such a team from an initial Ninox free trial period? If you don't need this team anymore, just delete it and you can ignore our payment reminder.

  • My free trial has expired, will my data be deleted now?
    • No, don’t worry, we will keep your data for about 30 days.
