Replacing manual process flows in manufacturing
An ERP can be very complex — individual adjustments make no sense in many cases due to the time and costs involved. KMU Cloud-Software GmbH uses low-code to digitize manufacturing in real time in addition to the existing ERP system.
Customer profile
Josef Kudlacek knows what he is talking about. He has 25 years of ERP industry experience and is the founder and former managing director of Wegasoft GmbH, an ERP software for mechanical engineering and metal processing companies. In 2020, a SME consulting with focus on ERP systems and process optimization in manufacturing. Since 2021, Kudlacek has been a Ninox Premium Solution Partner, implementing individual customer requirements with the help of Ninox and offering manufacturing companies the appropriate add-on solutions for their ERP systems. Mr. Kudlacek appreciates the know-how and experience of his customers. In this way, practice-oriented Ninox solutions are built in collaboration with customers. This results, for example, in the tried and tested and scalable production Ninox MES solution for process digitization. The customer-specific practical approach, the simple and transparent Ninox usability ensure success and high acceptance by users in production.
Challenge
Isolated solutions due to a lack of processes in ERP
ERP customizing is time-consuming and costly and often makes no sense for medium-sized companies. As a result, processes are not regularly fully mapped in the ERP. The lack of digitization of individual manufacturing processes is not uncommon, particularly in production planning and control. The production orders are usually transmitted on paper and the production employees then transfer them to Excel in order to carry out detailed planning. These stand-alone solutions combined with fluctuations and short-term changes in the areas of personnel management, machinery, material and equipment availability or contract manufacturing cause inefficiencies, lack of transparency and unnecessarily long processing times.
Solution
Ninox-based MES for digital manufacturing planning and control
“MES” stands for Manufacturing Execution System. MES is a software solution that represents a digital image of production and enables production processes to be monitored and controlled in real time. MES thus stands in the context of digitization, smart factory, lean production and industry 4.0 and includes the tasks: order planning & control, machine & detailed planning, data collection/feedback, time & material management. An MES pursues the goal of digitizing production and making the value chain more productive/effective. MES therefore acts as a link between ERP and production. The MES solution from KMU Cloud-Software GmbH combines Wegasoft's ERP with the Ninox low-code platform (optional with Ninox connection to ISTOS DMG MORI planning board for detailed digital planning).
Key features
- Connection to DocuWare document management system
- process optimization
- Individual solutions for SMEs
Benefits
The result of connecting Ninox to an ERP is a digital, automated setup that also provides SMEs with a tailor-made solution. With Ninox smart-MES-365, workplace monitor board & production control center, companies can react flexibly to changes and fluctuations at any time. Overall, processing times are significantly reduced, while transparency and efficiency are increasing. Digitalization in manufacturing also leads to planning security and reliability of schedules. Production orders are carried out digitally in a targeted, efficient and paperless process and in a sequential manner. The Ninox MES BDE time management completes the process workflow to the connected ERP system. This means that the ERP system is also aware of every production progress down to the work process level in real time at all times.
