From Excel to excellence: JJ Global Trader streamlines customs processing with Ninox
With the new Ninox solution, JJ Global Trader has significantly improved and automated its customs processing. This has significantly increased the efficiency of customs declarations.
Customer profile
JJ Global Trader, a wholesaler of exotic fruit and vegetables that imports from all over the world, and also operates an online shop for Asian food. The company imports goods from all over the world and markets them in Germany and across Europe. With 30 employees and a headquarters in Kelsterbach, JJ Global Trader has established itself as a reliable partner in the industry.
Challenge
JJ Global Trader was faced with the challenge of making customs processing efficient for importing their goods. Until now, the company has used complex Excel spreadsheets and various sources of information as well as a variety of stand-alone solutions for retail, ERP and inventory management.
Since the data (product and supplier data) had to be manually entered several times in the various systems, the process was time-consuming and prone to errors. The complexity of product specifications and tariff codes, which were regularly adjusted as a result of changes in tariff groups, made the process even more difficult.
Solution
JJ Global Trader decided to implement the Ninox database solution to streamline customs processing.
Ms. Jeer, authorized representative of JJ Global Trader: “We had helped ourselves with Excel so far. But as soon as several employees work on it, it becomes critical — the error rate was very high. We then looked for other software solutions, but they didn't meet our requirements. ”
In collaboration with Ninox partner Emanuel Neubert, an individual and comprehensive Ninox-based solution for customs processing was created. The implementation was carried out in several phases to ensure that all requirements were met and that employees were trained accordingly. It took a total of one and a half years to introduce the new software. Important interfaces were created — such as the connection to Dakosy and the Federal Institute for Agriculture and Food (BLE).
Benefits
With the new Ninox database solution, JJ Global Trader has significantly improved its processes. The quality control by BLE is now transmitted automatically. Customs clearance is prepared directly by Dakosy and the efficiency of customs declarations has increased by 70%.
Ms. Jeer said: “Depending on how many items we have, a customs declaration takes between 15 and 45 minutes, where it used to take us up to 2 hours. ”
